Curriculum Overview

Vision and Rationale

Believe • Learn • Grow

At Ridgeway Farm CE Academy, our curriculum is shaped by our Christian vision and our commitment to helping every child flourish. Rooted in our values of love, respect, dignity and hope, we provide a learning experience where children are known, valued and supported to become the very best version of themselves.

We believe that every child is uniquely created, deeply valued and full of potential. Our curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child, academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually, so that they grow in confidence, curiosity and character, ready for life now and in the future.

Our Vision in Action

Believe

We help children to believe in themselves, in their abilities and in their value. We build confidence, self-worth and resilience so that every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to try, persevere and succeed.

Learn

We inspire a love of learning through exciting, meaningful and creative experiences. Our curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious, helping children to develop strong knowledge, skills and understanding across all subjects.

Grow

We support children to grow as kind, responsible and compassionate people. Through reflection, relationships and real-life experiences, children develop character, empathy and a sense of responsibility to others and the world around them.

What Our Curriculum Looks Like

Our curriculum is:

  • Creative and engaging – learning is exciting, purposeful and memorable

  • Broad and balanced – covering all areas of the National Curriculum

  • Inclusive and ambitious – high expectations for every child

  • Child-centred – built around curiosity, interests and real-life experiences

  • Values-led – shaped by kindness, respect, responsibility and hope

We use a creative, thematic approach that helps children make meaningful connections across subjects. Learning is enriched through art, music, drama, outdoor learning, technology, trips and visitors, making learning real, relevant and inspiring.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

We believe learning should not be limited to the classroom. Children regularly learn outdoors and through visits, experiences and hands-on activities that bring learning to life. This helps children develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a love of the natural world.
