How accessible this website is
We know that some parts of this website are not fully accessible.
In particular:
- some older PDF and Word documents may not be fully structured for screen-reader users;
- some links use unclear wording such as “HERE” rather than describing their destination;
- some linked documents contain outdated information and are being replaced;
- some images or embedded content may not yet have appropriate text alternatives; and
- the website has not yet undergone a complete technical WCAG 2.2 accessibility audit.
We are reviewing the website and prioritising information that families need to access school services.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Ridgeway Farm CE Academy is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard because of the non-compliances and limitations listed below.
Non-accessible content
Documents
Some PDF and Word documents may not be fully accessible to screen-reader users. For example, some documents may:
- have an unclear heading structure;
- contain tables without appropriate headings;
- have an incorrect reading order;
- include images without meaningful alternative text; or
- not reflow correctly when magnified.
This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.1.1, 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
We will prioritise current statutory policies, forms and documents that families need to access school services. Please contact us if you require an accessible version of any document.
Links
Some links do not clearly describe their destination and use wording such as “HERE”. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4.
We are replacing unclear link wording as pages are reviewed.
Images and embedded content
Some images or embedded content may not have suitable text alternatives. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1.
We will add or improve alternative text where images convey important information.
Disproportionate burden
We have not currently identified any accessibility improvements that would represent a disproportionate burden.
Content outside the scope of the accessibility regulations
Some PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 may be exempt from the accessibility regulations unless they are needed to access an active school service.
Some third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by, nor under the control of, Ridgeway Farm CE Academy may also be outside the scope of the regulations.
We will nevertheless try to provide an accessible alternative where reasonably possible.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We are:
- correcting unclear and broken links;
- replacing outdated documents;
- reviewing alternative text for images;
- checking current statutory and service-critical PDFs;
- working with our website provider to identify technical accessibility issues; and
- making accessibility part of the process for publishing new website content.
We aim to correct the currently identified webpage and link issues by 31 December 2026. Accessibility improvements to documents will continue as policies and information are reviewed.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 4 September 2026.
It was last reviewed on 4 September 2026.
The website was assessed through a manual review of its principal pages and a sample of linked documents. This was not a complete assistive-technology or technical WCAG audit.
This statement will be reviewed following further technical testing and at least annually. The next scheduled review is September 2027.
